No, at the end of the first season they did successfully break out of prison. All throughout the second season, they were all on the run from this hardcore FBI agent and a bunch of the main characters ended up in Panama, where they hoped to escape. Ultimately, several of them got arrested there and thrown into this completely lawless prison in Panama.
